Alyson Kroischke has been a consultant to more than twenty "family offices," some large enough to require their own in-house tax departments. As an advisor to high net-worth families, Alyson has learned a great deal about family dynamics and how to run an effective family office. She is particularly skilled at helping multiple generations work together toward common goals. Her philosophy is “to maintain a healthy family environment by making sure all the generations are involved in making decisions.”
As a Director in Stanislawski & Harrison’s Tax Department, Alyson helps her clients look beyond tax considerations to define their personal long-term goals. “I help my clients focus on what’s most meaningful to them and give them the information they need to make an informed decision. Then I encourage them to make decisions that are in sync with their values, rather than making a decision based solely on achieving the best tax result.”
Alyson’s tax advice consistently helps clients meet their tax and estate planning objectives. She takes a creative approach to tax planning, as seen in her success with the transfer of low-basis securities into charitable remainder trusts, resulting in substantial income and estate tax savings. This strategy gave her clients the potential to eliminate the capital gains tax while meeting their philanthropic goals and receiving a significant tax benefit.
Alyson also advises trusts, businesses and charitable organizations in many specialty areas including estate planning and financial services. Prior to joining Stanislawski & Harrison, Alyson worked at Arthur Andersen as a Manager in their Private Client Services group.
